Our lenses are made from quality materials, and general maintanance requirements are minimal. A little care of your lenses, will ensure that your lenses remain in good condition for their lifetime.
Lens Care Materials:
- Good quality tissue paper
- Lens Polishing Cloth
- Hi-Tech Lens Cleaner Spray On
- Spectacle Case
Lens Cleaning Method:
To clean your lenses, immerse your spectacles in cool soapy water (fresh dishwashing water) and dry with a clean tissue. When dry, polish the lenses with a clean, lens polishing cloth. Alternatively you can use Hi-Tech Lens Cleaner Spray, wipe with a clean tissue and polish with a clean lens polishing cloth.
All complete packages purchased from Noosa Optical are supplied with a Lens Polishing Cloth and Specatcle Case. Replacement cloths and Hi-Tech Lens Cleaner spray bottles are available also.
Storing your spectacles in the supplied Spectacle Case will protect the lenses from dust, scratches and other damage.
Common Mistakes:
- Perfumed tissues such as Eucalyptus and Aloe Vera as these contain oils which cause smudging. Coarse tissues are also less useful than good quality softer brands.
- Using a dirty cloth or a shirt to clean your lenses is likely to scratch their surfaces. Scratches reduce the clarity of your lenses and cannot be removed.
- Overly frequent cleaning of the lenses is also likely to cause damage. Hard coatings help to reduce scratching associated with normal wearing, but will not make the lense scratch proof.
- It is best to avoid using chemicals to clean your glasses as some cleaning agents are corrosive to plastic and will damage your lenses.
- Allowing your glasses to heat up such as by leaving your spectacles in the car on a hot day can warp the lenses and cause the lens coatings to become crazed.
- The spectacle case is designed to store your spectacles. Placing other items in the spectacle case with your spectacles is likely to damage your spectacles or damage the lining of the case.
