Optical Assistant - Noosa Junction

Full Time / Permanent Part Time (Monday - Saturday, 25+ hours per week negotiable)

Job Description: This is a rewarding role and is well suited to someone who enjoys the challenge of helping people. You will be the first point of contact for our customers - our creator of fantastic first and lasting impressions. The role will also include meeting and greeting, making appointment bookings, processing transactions and providing general assistance to the Optometrists, Practice Manager and Optical Dispensing staff. We are a mostly paperless business, so your computer skills will be well utilized. With some training provided by us, you will assist with the fitting of eyewear, selection of sunglasses and helping customers with spectacle repairs.

Skills You Will Need: A good understanding of computers, online systems, Eftpos and modern telephone systems is required. The ability to make conversation and keep a cheerful, happy manner as well as empathy, are essential personal traits for the role.

Training Provided: The position will require some in-house training to enable you to be successful in the role:

  • In-house software and systems 
  • Basic optics and Optometry related skills required for the role

Further Growth Opportunities: Although not a requirement for the role, there will be the opportunities to develop your skills and grow into a more advanced role within the business:

  • Low Vision Aids
  • Prescription Optical Dispensing (Certificate Level)

Job Description: You will be our second Optometrist. New graduates are welcome to apply and our Principal Optometrist will be available to support you in your first job. You will gain experience in a friendly and professional environment with an experienced and knowledgeable optical team. Our second consultation room has recently been re-fitted and has new equipment installed. You will also have access to a high standard of additional diagnostic equipment. We are a mostly paperless business and you can expect all clinical records to be in electronic form. We are a 100% independent, family owned practice and we're progressive and supportive to our team's work-life balance.

Skills You Will Need: You will need to be a driven and enthusiastic Optometrist, motivated to provide the highest standards of patient care. Therapeutic endorsement is an advantage, but not essential. 

Training Provided: The position will require some in-house training and external training to enable you to be successful in the role:

  • In-house software, instruments and systems which may be unique
  • Ongoing clinical and professional development
